Combination of numbers with shapes method which skillfully combines quantitative relations and geometrical figures plays an important role in the mathematical teaching of senior school.In the subject standard for senior mathematics(2017),six mathematical core literacy is defined and explained.The intuitive imagination and mathematical abstraction of six core literacy are required to be taught in the actual teaching,which brings a new opportunity to the research on the teaching for combination of numbers with shapes.In this paper,the literature review method is used to derive the combination of numbers with shapes,and the related theoretical research,to explain the teaching principles and values for the combination of numbers with shapes method in senior school.In this paper,the case analysis method is used to analyze the textbook and examples associated with combination of numbers with shapes in senior school.A specific case on trigonometric function is carried out.In this paper,the questionnaire survey and statistical analysis are conducted on the teaching and learning for the combination of numbers with shapes method in senior school.The teaching status of combination of numbers with shapes can be obtained based on them.The main conclusions are derived as follows:1.To the textbook and the case analysis method: the combination of numbers with shapes emphasizes “aiding mathematical problems with graphics” and“explaining graphics with mathematical numbers”.For the problem with higher difficulties and abstraction,the teaching based on combination of numbers with shapes method is very visual and lively,which makes students easy to understand.Moreover,a specific case on trigonometric function is conducted.2.To the questionnaire survey on the teaching and learning of combination of numbers with shapes method: It can be found that there is a significant difference among different grades senior students on the knowledge mastering of combinationof numbers with shapes.The grade-3 senior school students got the highest score,then followed by grade-1 and grade-2 students successively.The reason maybe as follows.The grade-3 students have a comprehensive understanding of knowledge in senior school,which make them have a higher kill level on the combination of numbers with shapes than the grade-1 and grade-2 students.So the grade-3 students got the highest score.The study content of grade-1 students is easier,because they started the senior school learning less than one year.They did not learn the subject with higher requirement on the combination of numbers with shapes such as conic curves.Although the grade-2 students have practiced the skill of combination of numbers with shapes for more than one year,due to higher difficulty and requirement on the combination of numbers with shapes,the score of Grade-1 students was higher than those of Grade-2 students.In the teaching design and class teaching on the combination of numbers with shapes,this paper aims to inspire teachers to skillfully use the information technology,aid with blackboard teaching,the thought of combination of numbers with shapes in the teaching,to emphasize the improvement of intuitive imagination capability,guidance students to sum up,training the logic thinking and improving mathematical core literacy.
