Social security and employment have always been China's two major livelihood issues.Employment and social insurance are closely related. When the labor commodification reaches a certain scale,a social insurance system is created.A perfect social insurance system promotes further commercialization of the labor force. This article wants to analyze the relationship between social insurance and employment as a major component of social security. This paper sorts out data from the 2000-2015 China Statistical Yearbook and uses the econometric model to study the relationship between total social insurance expenditures and employment in the East,Central, and West regions of China, and the effect of sub-item social insurance on employment.Through research,it is concluded that: First, social insurance expenditures have a catalytic effect on employment;Second, there are regional differences in total social insurance expenditures on employment, with the deepest impact in the eastern region, followed by the central region, and the western region is relatively weak; The proportion of old-age insurance coverage and per capita expenditure as well as the ratio of unemployment insurance and the per capita contribution have a positive effect on employment. The innovation of this paper lies in adopting the panel data of 2000-2015,establishing an econometric model,sub-regionally researching the impact of social insurance expenditure on employment in different regions of China and the effect of social insurance on employment, and making recommendations. The inadequacies are that social insurance and employment are two major areas of research. The relationship between the two is complex. The research in this paper is only one of the perspectives, the relationship between deeper social security expenditure and employment, and the relationship between fiscal expenditure and employment. It also requires the author to further study in the future.
