Framework Study Of YaoMing's Report On USA Today(2002-2017)

China is gradually moving from a big sports country to a power sports country.This important phase transition cannot be separated from the efforts and hard work of athletes for many years.They are also the card of China's sports to further the world.Excellent athlete models play a role in promoting other athletes.Reports by foreign media on Chinese athletes not only spread the image of athletes to the world,but also make the image of China spread to the world.With the internationalization of the NBA,basketball has become more and more influential to China and the construction of Chinese basketball culture has been affected.Yao Ming,a typical figure in Chinese basketball,entered the NBA and received attention from the mainstream media in the United States.He occupied an important constructive element in the medium of communication and became the basic symbol of the media's cultural identity.Therefore,choosing the mainstream US newspaper "Today America" as the research object and analyzing the framework of Yao Ming's reporting is of great value.This article uses Yao Ming's report from 2002 to 2017 “USA Today” as the research object,using literature data method,content analysis method,and text analysis method,based on literature review,formulating analysis indicators.On the premise of combining historical background,this article mainly adopts the framework of Ruan Guoren,from the three levels of high-level structure,middle-level structure and low-level structure,to conduct in-depth analysis in order to explore the reporting framework of “USA Today”.The study found that from 2002 to 2017,the report "USA Today" was divided into three distinct phases.From the beginning of 2002 to the first year of the NBA,Yao Ming was selected by the Rockets as the No.1 pick,before the draft,in the draft,and in the draft.Afterwards,“USA Today” has reported on Yao Ming's suspicions,selecting negative words for reporting,and using metaphors to subtly convey ideas;during the period from 2003 to July 2011 when Yao Ming retired,Yao Ming continued to use strength.To prove that the “USA Today” reporting framework and communication themes has changed and is full of recognition and appreciation for Yao Ming's report;after the retiring of Yao Ming in 2011,“USA Today” reported a sharp decrease in Yao Ming's attention and no longer paid attention,but when he mentioned Yao Ming,he Defined as a once-strength NBA player.In the report,"USA Today" pays great attention to the argumentation of the reporting center.The arguments of the quotation and citation facts are the important characteristics of the report.
