"Chinese language fever" has always maintained a hot development in Thailand.The number of students learning Chinese is increasing.Thailand’s Chinese language teaching has begun to shift from elective courses to specialized courses and required courses,and it has become more professional.Although the development trend of the Thai language courses in Thailand is becoming more and more obvious,the Chinese elective course is the earliest and fastest-growing type of Chinese teaching in Thailand.It has always been one of the most basic and most central positions in Thai language teaching in Thailand.The study of the teaching of Chinese elective courses in Thailand is indispensable for promoting the development of Thai language teaching in Thailand.The basic level of secondary school education is Thailand’s most advanced stage of Chinese elective courses.The central area of Thailand is also the best area for development of Thai language teaching in Thailand.Therefore,this article selects the middle school of Chinese as a research content and has a certain degree of representation..This paper starts from the problems discovered by the author during the course of Chinese elective courses in Thailand.Through questionnaires and interviews,the author finds out the current status of Chinese elective courses in middle schools in central Thailand,finds out its advantages and disadvantages,and analyzes the reasons.Proposing and solving tactics from the four aspects of teacher construction,curriculum setting,teaching content,and teaching practice,we hope to provide some references for the development of Thai Chinese elective courses.This paper is divided into four parts.The first part is the introduction:It includes the reason and significance of the topic,the existing research findings,the research object,the research content and the research methods.In the second part,questionnaire surveys were conducted from the following aspects:basic situation of teachers,basic conditions of students,curriculum development,use of teaching materials,and teaching conditions.The current status of the teaching of Chinese elective courses in middle schools in the Middle School was analyzed.The third part analyzes the results of the second part of the survey and concludes that the current advantages of teaching Chinese as an elective course in central Thailand are the high level of expatriate teachers,the reasonable number and scale of classes,the emphasis on listening and speaking and oral communication,and teaching methods.The auxiliary methods are rich;their inadequacies are reflected in the lack of local Chinese teachers and their low level,lack of correct teaching and management attitudes and skills of teachers,unclear learning objectives of students and low interest,the need for further improvement of Chinese elective course materials,and the teaching of teachers.The lack of connectivity in work.The last part puts forward the corresponding strategies and teaching suggestions on the basis of the previous explanation.In the area of teacher construction,it is necessary to increase the training of local teachers,improve the handover procedures for teachers assigned to foreign students,and improve the classroom management skills of teachers;in terms of curriculum setting,attention should be paid to the management of elective courses,and the number of elective courses should be appropriately adjusted and adjusted according to the level of students.Allocate classes;In terms of teaching content:Strengthen the construction of Chinese elective courses,organically combine language and cultural content,and properly infiltrate the contents of Chinese character teaching;in terms of teaching practice,it is necessary to clarify the goals and requirements of Chinese teaching,and to adjust the content difficulty according to the students’ Chinese proficiency.Use a variety of teaching aids and choose a variety of methods to improve teaching effectiveness.
