The Role Of Postgraduates' Associations In Ideological And Political Education

The ideological and political education function of Postgraduate Association in universities means it will provides a platform for the combination of ideas and methods of ideological and political education,regulations of Postgraduate Association,and cultural activities of campus,which urge the graduate students to accept the influence and edification of Postgraduate Association imperceptibly,and completes their ideological and political education task.As a kind of self-governmence organization of a mass character for graduate students,Postgraduate Association plays a very important role in graduates' education and cultivate,which is widely existed in universities and research institutes.Unlike graduate students in research institutes,Postgraduate Association of university accompanied with large number of people and strong aggregation,which provides great convenience for the implementation of ideological and political education.This article is focused on Postgraduate Association and researching about the function of Postgraduate Association in ideological and political education.Firstly,this article starts from the basis of topic selection and research significance,the research status,research methods and innovation points of this paper are summarized.and related basic concepts of graduate students.And on that basis,the education function of the Postgraduate Association is divided into normative function,guiding function,cohesion function,cognitive development function,coordinating function and shaping function.Secondly,this paper is based on the investigation of the current status of education function in Postgraduate Association,Summing up five kinds of problems impeding the ideological and political education function:The positioning ambiguity leads to weak specification function,The division of labor leads to the weakening of coordination function,The uneven quality of the cadre team leads to the lack of guidance function,There exists formalism in the work,which leads to the weakening of cohesion function and It is difficult to attract students to participate in the activities,which leads to the poor shaping function.For the problems above,the reasons are summarized as follows:unreasonable organization structure,insufficient attention of schools,lack of relevant education and training,inadequate service consciousness of cadre,not enough activity funds,and so on.Lastly,put forward some countermeasures to make full use of ideological and political education function of Postgraduate Association:strengthening the support of school to the ideological and political education work of Postgraduate Association;reinforcing the self-construction of PostgraduateAssociation,Which including deepening the recognition of the organization,enhancing the construction of democracy and work system,optimizing the organization structure,improving the ability of graduate students in Postgraduate Association;last but not least,activate the ideological andpolitical education function of Postgraduate Association through guidance ofinterest and innovation.
