TPRS(Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling)was founded in 1990 by American Spanish teacher Blaine Ray.It mainly completes the study of language points through three steps: vocabulary,story and reading.In order to enrich the diversity of primary Chinese spoken language teaching in Thailand,this paper takes the Nermyang Middle School as an example to study the application of TPRS teaching method.This paper has six parts.The first chapter's introduction reviews the theoretical basis and research status of TPRS.The second chapter analyzes the feasibility of applying TPRS teaching method in the elementary Chinese spoken language teaching in the school by analyzing the current teaching situation of Ningyang Middle School in Jialaixin.In the third chapter,according to the Chinese teaching practice,three cases are used to describe in detail the teaching process of using TPRS teaching method in elementary Chinese spoken language teaching.The application of TPRS teaching method in each case is deeply analyzed and discussed.The fourth chapter uses questionnaire survey to understand the acceptance of TPRS teaching method in teachers and students.The fifth chapter combined with the author's teaching practice experience to elaborate the problems existing in the use of the teaching method and make teaching reflection.Finally,it is concluded in the conclusion that the TPRS teaching method has certain effect in improving Thai primary Chinese spoken language,but there are also some difficult conclusions in the implementation process.It is hoped that the conclusions of this paper will provide reference for related scholars to continue to deepen the application of this pedagogy in Chinese teaching.
