As the basic unit of modern higher education,the subject has become the carrier of the development of the University.The quality of higher education depends to a great extent on the quality of the development of the subject.Subject evaluation can evaluate the quality of disciplinary construction and the development in universities,help universities understand their current situation,advantages and disadvantages,promote the development of disciplines,and improve the quality of personnel training.In October 2015,the State Council promulgated the plan for the overall development of first-class universities and first-rate disciplines.In the program,the principle of insisting on the basis of disciplines is clearly put forward.It is the only way to build first-class universities on the basis of constructing first-class disciplines.In 2016,the fourth round of disciplinary evaluation started by the Degree Center of the Ministry of Education.Under the background of "double first class construction",this round of evaluation has attracted much attention,but it has also been controversial.Based on this research,this paper attempts to start from the perspective of disciplinary assessment,to comb out the existing problems of current subject assessment system based on a comprehensive review of the development process of the discipline evaluation,and put forward suggestions for feasibility optimization.The structure of this paper is divided into the following parts:The first chapter is the introduction of this article,which mainly introduces the origin of the topic,the related literature review,the research methods,and the main concepts.The second part focuses on the evolution of discipline assessment practice carried out by the Degree Center of the Ministry of Education.Through the longitudinal comparative study on the evaluation objective,the index system,themethods and procedure of evaluation and the treatment of the evaluation results,the development process of the subject evaluation is clarified and the discipline evaluation system is analyzed.The trend of reform and development is explored,so did the law of its development.The third part first expounds the value appeal of subject evaluation: Based on the logic of discipline development,the internal rules and characteristics of academic research and discipline development should be followed in the course of subject evaluation,and the system of discipline evaluation to promote discipline construction and development should be constructed.In contrast with the aspirations of the subject assessment system,I find that there are still many problems in the process of subject evaluation.For example,the independence and credibility of the evaluation subject is insufficient;the evaluation index system has the tendency of generalization,narrowing,alienation and solidification;the evaluation procedure is lack of professionalism and scientificity;it exaggerates the role of the evaluation results and distorts the value demands of the evaluation.In view of the existing problems in the current discipline evaluation system,the fourth part of this paper puts forward a series of feasible suggestions to solve the problems.We can cultivate real third party evaluation subjects,further improve the evaluation index system,optimize the evaluation procedure and rationally look at the evaluation results,so as to promote the construction of the system of subject evaluation in China and even the development of the "first-class universities and first-rate disciplines" construction.The last part of the article summarizes the full text.
