| Throughout the secondary school geography content,the subject knowledge which take the "terrain",feature as a clue become one of the important and difficult point in the geography teaching activities because of its widely distributed knowledge,abstractness of strong,and incomprehensible features,etc.The traditional terrain teaching mainly dependent on wall chart,atlas,physical model and general multimedia courseware and so on,but there is a big limitation of the expression of three-dimensional terrain ups and downs and morphological characteristics,and the teaching effect is unsatisfactory.GIS has powerful capability of spatial information processing,visualization and spatial analysis,which presents the basic concept,types and characteristics of terrain in various aspects,and presents the space features of terrain elements to the students intuitively,the orderly input,processing,and analysis of terrain data is conducive to cultivate the students’ ability of space concept and terrain analysis capabilities.Therefore,GIS technology as a new teaching support in the teaching of terrain topics,the development of teaching systems which meet the demand of practical teaching and students’ cognitive levels,can compensate for the deficiency of traditional terrain teaching effectively and solve the problem of difficult to convey the concept of terrain.The paper aims to the design and application of GIS-assisted teaching system in the terrain special topic,the main work is as follows:First,there is an analysis of the significance of the theories such as constructivism,spatial intelligence to GIS-assisted terrain thematic teaching,which to determine the theory foundation of GIS teaching systems development.Second,it is a research of the secondary school terrain topic teaching knowledge system and teaching purpose to determine the discipline foundation of GIS teaching systems development.Third,we design and develop GIS teaching system under the guidance of the theory of constructivism and spatial intelligence theory,based on the topographic map interpretation of script design,combined with the irregular triangle net generation and analysis of algorithms,and animation demonstration mechanism based on key events.Fourth,we do experimental research to discuss that the GIS teaching system play a significant role in promoting the students’ capabilities,such as to master the topographic map of interpretation teaching goal,to form a correct concept of space,and spatial analysis. |
