The continuous increase in the number of elderly people has become the most obvious feature of China’s aging.Among them,the elderly living alone in cities have many mental problems due to the death of their partners,physical aging,children leaving home and other factors.Social work intervenes in the mental care of the elderly living alone,which improves the happiness index of the elderly in their later years.From the family level,it promotes the harmony of family members’ relations.From a social perspective,promoting social stability and achieving harmonious development also make up for the government’s shortcomings in this regard,so that the elderly can enjoy a comfortable life in their old age.This study analyzes the elderly living alone in a residential area from the perspective of ecosystem,focusing on understanding their spiritual needs.After classifying and summarizing the collected data,it is found that the mental status of the elderly living alone in the city is problematic due to weak psychological adjustment ability,insufficient family care and single social communication.This research starts from a comprehensive perspective to make a needs assessment of the case owners and formulate targeted and specialized case social work service programs to help the elderly improve their mental health.Linking resources and providing services for the case owner helps the case owner to improve his mental state to a certain extent,and also proves the feasibility of case social work intervening in the mental care of the elderly living alone.This study believes that in order to solve the mental problems of the elderly living alone,in addition to developing professional social work on the basis of following professional values and principles and gradually building a professional team to serve the elderly,the culture of respecting and loving the elderly should be publicized in the whole society,the fine cultural tradition of respecting and loving the elderly should be promoted among the younger generation,and the society should pay attention to this group of elderly living alone so as to enhance the happiness of the elderly. |
