Nowadays,the criminals’ age structure has changed.There emerge new differences in their education level and self-awareness.Thus,the current prison management becomes out-dated,without clear understanding of prisoners’ psychological status.So,their behaviors cannot be rectified and their ideas cannot be corrected.The old methods’ backwardness is just because of the lack of forward-seeing research of new-generation prisoners’ management.The management laws have deficiency and the management system is behind the times.To perfect our nation’s prison management methods,this essay researches American,German,and Japanese prisons’ experiences and methods to tackle the change of prisoners’ age structure.The essay also strives to point out Chinese prisons’ reform towards such a change.By analyzing the reasons why our prisoners’ management methods are backward,this essay provides the forward-looking research of new-generation prisoners management,hoping to revise the current laws,improve the management system,and solve the backward management problem.With the perfected management methods,the prisons’ social functions can be achieved.
