Research On The Problems And Countermeasures Of Residents’ Participation In Urban Community Governance

In urban community governance,community residents actively and effectively participate in community governance,which plays an important role in community development and social governance.Community residents fully participate in the whole process of community public affairs is also an important way to achieve community autonomy.At present,although urban community governance in China has developed to a certain extent,there are still some problems such as residents’ low willingness to participate and insufficient ability to participate.How to improve the current situation of residents’ participation in urban community governance in China is a topic worrthy of in-depth discussion.Based on the theory of governance,public participation and empowerment,this paper defines the concepts of community and urban community,community governance and residents’ participation.This paper makes an empirical investigation and analysis on residents’ participation in urban community governance.Taking Q community in Liangxi district of Wuxi as an example,this paper analyzes the community participation of residents in Q community from the aspects of the current situation,influencing factors and willingness of residents to participate in community activities.At the same time,the paper analyzes the problems existing in the community participation from three aspects:the main body of participation,the process of participation and the effect of participation.This paper analyzes the causes of the problems of residents’participation from the perspective of residents and governance subjects,including the reasons such as the solidification of residents’ thoughts,the lack of individual ability,the serious administration of community committees,the low degree of community workers’ specialization,and the slow development of community social organizations.Finally,some Suggestions are put forward to improve the community residents’participation,strengthen the spirit of community residents’ participation,and broaden the channels of community residents’ participation.We will give full play to the leading role of party organizations in reducing the burden on neighborhood committees,increasing the energy of community workers,promoting the construction of smart communities,and promoting the development of community social organizations.
