The Problem Of The Left-behind Children Brought Up By Their Grandparents

Raising children by grandparents is a social phenomenon accompanied by the development of rural economy and society in China.Because of the long absence of their parents’ role,grandparents took care of the left-behind children.This kind of upbringing breaks the relatively stable family situation and it is replaced by a relatively unstable mode of upbringing and education,and the educational function of family has been weakened for the left-behind children.Therefore,the problem of left-behind children under the influence of rural generational maintenance is not negligible for schools and society.This study takes the socialization theory as the starting point,uses the questionnaire and the interview method to investigate and analyze the problems and conditions of left-behind children in the aspects of living habits,learning,interpersonal communication and mental health under the influence of rural grandparents raising.There are six chapters in this paper.The first chapter introduces the research background,research significance and literature review.The second chapter is the research design,including the definitions of related concepts,theoretical supports and research methods.The third chapter is the specific research on the left-behind children brought by their grandparents on Linhai town.The fourth chapter is the specific situation and analysis of the left-behind children problem under the influence of rural grandparents raising.The fifth chapter is the countermeasures and suggestions and the sixth chapter is the summary of this paper.The conclusion is that the influence of generational maintenance on left-behind children is like a double-edges sword,which has advantages and disadvantages,but it does more harm than good.Based on this conclusion,the author puts forward the countermeasures and suggestions from three aspects of family,school and community.Namely,the family members should work together,the school should pay more attention to the left-behind children,and the community helps the left-behind children’s families.
