Betong is a border city between the southern tip of Thailand and kedah state of Malaysia.There are ethnic malays,thais and ethnic Chinese living in Betong.Most of them are ethnic Chinese,and 80% of which are from Guangxi,known as "Guangxi village".More than 80 years ago,under the influence of special geographical environment,specific political and social environment,Guangxi people settled in Betong,Thailand.In order to consolidate their own development,ethnic Chinese in Guangxi established Chinese communities,developed Chinese education,and took the initiative to integrate into the local society of Thailand while maintaining close ties with their ancestral home.Starting from the historical background of the formation and development of the Guangxi ethnic Chinese community in Betong,This paper intends to explore the formation and development of Guangxi ethnic Chinese community from the aspects of Chinese life,Chinese mass organizations,Chinese language education,Chinese identity and the development relationship with Guangxi,so as to deepen the understanding of Guangxi Chinese in Thailand and provide inspiration for the economic and trade exchanges,cultural exchanges and other fields of eration between Guangxi and Thailand.
