Development And Application Of Soldiers' Bloody Ethos Traits Questionnaire

Bloody ethos is a kind of soldiers' spirit striving to make progress,usually presented in the daily life and military tasks through soldiers' emotional state and behavioral responses.Bloody ethos is the essential part of military soldiers,the specific performance of fighting spirit,the spiritual sword of the army.This study aims at developing an effective Soldiers' Bloody Ethos Traits Questionnaire and putting forward some targeted suggestions of cultivating soldiers' bloody ethos.This study took military soldiers in a regiment as subjects and did some investigations on soldiers' bloody ethos.A literature review was made firstly.Then a qualitative research was made.After that,the Military Soldiers' Bloody Questionnaire was developed.We explored the status and differences of military soldiers' bloody ethos.Finally,some advice was put forward to develop military soldiers' bloody ethos.The following are the preliminary results:(1)Soldiers' bloody ethos contained five dimensions including loyalty,fighting enthusiasm,fighting resilience,sense of honor and fighting confidence and consisted of 33 items;(2)the questionnaire was well-designed and had good reliability and validity meeting the standard of surveying,which means it can be used as a tool to test the soldiers' bloody ethos;(3)the scores of the bloody ethos were generally above average.The general state was positive.The bloody ethos and its some dimensions differed in some demographic variables,like gender,age,services and degree of education;(4)the bloody ethos of military soldiers could be developed through strengthening ideological education,optimizing the environment of culture,improving measures for encouraging,paying attention to the hone through task,which provides a strong support for cultivating a new generation of “four haves” revolutionary soldiers and achieving the army goal of the party in the new situation.
