On The Cultivation Of Chinese Ethos

Chinese ethos contains the ideal & faith, the value pursuit and the life wisdom evolving in the process of Chinese nation's long-term existing, multiplying, living and developing, which has molded Chinese nation's unique personality and become the spiritual essence of Chinese civilization and the spiritual strength for united struggle. Today, China, as an emerging developing country in the world, has both superiority and severe challenge. To achieve the goal of building a well-off society in an all-round way proposed at the 16th CCPC(Congress of the Communist Party of China), the whole nation's strength and resource need to be taken advantage of. After all, Chinese ethos is basic, long-range and constructive strength inspiring popular aspiration, condensing popular will and exploiting popular financial resources, while it is also spiritual motive force helping to cope with challenge, overcome difficulty and march forward courageously. With its rich ideological connotation, mature theory system and prolonged history process, practical cultivation is necessary to carry forward Chinese ethos.Through analyzing the domestic and foreign situation of globalization, market-transformation, secularization and so on, this paper points out the importance and urgency to pay great attention to the cultivation of Chinese ethos according to the goal of building a well-off society. Through historical review and theory refinement, it also systematically elaborates the connotation, guiding ideology and content system of Chinese ethos. Based on analyzing the current condition and problems of the cultivation of Chinese ethos, the paper offers several measures and suggestion in the respect of cultivation carrier, ways and methods.
