Malaysia’s former Prime Minister Mahathir on the basis of international environment and the domestic political situation changes,the implementation of its predecessor different policy toward China,Malaysia relations have entered a new stage: politics,frequent high-level visits,a substantial increase in the degree of mutual trust;both sides in the fields of economy,trade and investment are a growing trend,broad prospects for cooperation on culture;the two countries,official and non-governmental exchanges,fruitful cooperation in education.While the friendship and cooperation between Malaysia and China,there are also factors that restrict the further development of the relations between the two sides.In this paper,the policy of Malaysia to China in the period of prime minister Mahathir’s ruling is the object of study,and it is expounded from four aspects.First of all,a brief overview of the relevant research status and the significance of this study.Then it examines the evolution of the Malaysian government’s policy towards China before Mahathir was in power.Then,Mahathir introduced the social background of China policy analysis.Finally,the main performance of the Mahathir government’s policy to China is described in detail,and the factors that restrict the closer contact between the Malaysia and China are analyzed.Malaysia is an important member of ASEAN.China relations with China in the ASEAN,and other members of the state-owned big in common,so the research of the Mahathir administration’s China policy,not only helps to understand the evolution of Malaysia,the relationship between context,influencing factors to Malaysia,relationship,can also China exchanges with ASEAN countries to provide inspiration.
