The Iran-Iraq war was one of the most important local wars in the late Cold War period. The Iran-Iraq war took place not only in the heart of the Middle East where the traditional local wars broke out intensively, but also at a key node in the era of joining the mechanized war and the era of information war. Therefore, the study of the military history of the Iran-Iraq war has the great significance of inheriting the past and helps to find out the general significance in the multiple partial wars during the Cold War by studying the Iran-Iraq war.As the most important influencing factor in the modern war,the airpower contention lasted for a long time, reflecting the whole area of the two Iran-Iraq wars and the whole warring world. It reflected the breadth and diversity of air operations during the pre-information war.The battle over air power,as the strategic winner of the game between the two Iran wars, sometimes directly affects the implementation of specific campaigns, sometimes indirectly and even decisively affects the long-term trend behind both ground battlefields. This article discusses the Iran-Iraq war in the Iran-Iraq war through the analysis of the composition and changes of airpower, the sources of arms, the tactics and tactics, the command system and the international influence factors of the two sides during the Iran-Iraq War from the perspective of the combination of air battlefield and ground operations. To find out the air factors that influence or even decide the development and trend of the war between Iran and Iraq so as to interpret the root causes of the long and indecisiveness of the Iran-Iraq war,the heavy casualties and the enormous loss of economic and social livelihood. The conclusion reached was that there was a clear gap between the level of air power used by Iran and Iraq in the Iran-Iran war. However, both sides have made systemic shortcomings at the high-level decision-making,thus leading to the fact that neither side can rely solely on airpower to win the war,Did not even realize the strategic role of air power in the war and led to massive and violent ground battles. On the other hand, both Iran and Iran were unable either because of lack of performance onthe air platforms, lack of personnel training,or due to the harsh international environment The United States launched a decisive air strikes against the other side, making the use of air power most of the Iran-Iraq war lost strategic abruptness and its air operations showed sporadic and fragmented characteristics.Because of the special attributes of air power,The fact that the air power relied on both fear and fear has greatly hindered the two sides from letting their own air power out in the war.Even after the Air Force helped the regime win the war,the regime,in turn, washed the former and produced a political tragedy of "rabbits and dogs" Finally, both Iran and Iran use their respective air power in the Iran-Iran war In particular, the Iraqi Air Force played a major role in the "warring cities","raiding waves" and the inhumane chemical war in the Iran-Iraq war, becoming the main source of civilian casualties during the Iran-Iraq war, highlighting the two The "all-out war" property of the Iraq war has become the most distinctive feature of several other Middle East wars that distinguished the two Iran-Iraq wars from the Cold War era.The Iran-Iraq war greatly devastated Iran and Iraq, the two developing countries that were at a rapid rise at the time, completely interrupted the normal economic development of the two countries and fundamentally changed the political pattern in the Middle East since the 1980 s and started After the Gulf War,the United States has been deeply involved in the "Pandora's Box" in the Middle East.Since the Iran-Iraq war has at many levels contradicts the principle of modern high-tech local wars, its reference to modern wars is more and more negative. The outcome of the Iran-Iraq war not only mislead Saddam himself, bringing him completely wrong war experiences, but also misleading many countries at the time. However, the ensuing Gulf War immediately proved that the various strategies and tactics Iraq has been effective in dealing with Iran in the Iran-Iraq war played hardly any role in the battle of modern high-tech wars. The most crucial difference still lies in the disparity in emphasis on air power.During the war,the leaders of Iran and Iran only saw the fighting of soldiers on the ground battlefield, turning a blind eye to the role of air power that secretly affected the overall situation of the war. Therefore,Iran did not brake the war machine in a timely manner after 1982 and eventually fell into a quagmire for six years. And while the Iraqi Ba'athist regiment once realized the strategic role of the Air Force,it eventually failed to get rid of the fate of the self-destructing Great Wall. Thus it can be seen that the lesson learned from the use of air power by both sides in the Iran-Iraq war is extremely profound. If the developing countries do not resolve their long-standing problem of "politicization of the armed forces," they will certainly exposeIran during the war,The various shortcomings that have been manifested in the war may even once again repeat the war on the people-from-people and lose-lose in the Iran-Iraq war.The lessons of the Iran-Iraq war deserve serious study by all developing countries in order to avoid repeating the mistakes made by the two countries.
