The Impact Of WeChat Use On Urban Inclusion Of The Elderly With The Relocation

Based on the study of social integration theory and the impact of new media use on the integration of floating population in urban areas,this article focuses on the integration of the elderly with the relocation and proposes for the first time the issue of the impact of their WeChat use on their integration into cities.The object of study is the elderly with the relocation of Shenzhen who have reached 55 years of age.First of all,this study is based on quantitative research methods and combines qualitative research methods.We use the WeChat use of elderly people with relocation as an independent variable,and urban integration as a dependent variable to demonstrate whether the independent variable will influence the dependent variable to test Whether WeChat use and urban integration have Correlation.Second,quantitative research results show that there is a significant difference in the degree of urban integration between the elderly with the relocation who have used WeChat and who have not.WeChat use intensity,WeChat social engagement,and the perception of WeChat usage effects are positively correlated with the mental integration,behavior integration,and social relationship integration.And there is no significant difference in the urban integration of the relocated elderly with different WeChat content preferences.In addition,based on demographic variables as control variables,a hierarchical regression analysis of urban integration was conducted.The results show that WeChat use intensity cannot predict the urban integration of the elderly with the relocation;WeChat social participation can positively predict mental integration,behavior integration,and social relationship integration of the elderly with the relocation;the perception of the use of WeChat alone have a predictive effect on the mental integration,behavior integration.Finally,we discuss the quantitative research results based on the related theories and depth interviews.As a whole,the integration of urban residents with the relocation of the elderly is relatively optimistic,and socio-economic status is an important factor affecting the urban integration of them.The diversity of WeChat content needs and the media literacy of the elderly may be the reason why WeChat content preferences do not have relevance to urban integration.The intensity of WeChat use is affected by the perception of WeChat social engagement and WeChat usage effects,and it is only relevant but not predictive with the urban integration of the elderly.In short,the use of WeChat for elderly people with the relocation is conducive to the urban integration,but WeChat use does not the root-cause that affect the urban integration of the elderly with the relocation.
