This paper studied the views of the off-site aging in registered elders who are above 50 years old in Shanghai. The development of off-site aging abroad was relatively mature, but it didn't develop quickly in China due to the traditional concepts.Off-site aging referred to the elderly people leaving their original places of residence and relocated to other places for retirement. The characteristics of the elderly migration were diverse, while the specialty of off-site aging was to add the goal for aging in their process of elderly migration. This paper adopted 1927 questionnaires through a three-month survey, and carried out the group differences between elderly's willingness and unwillingness by cross-analysis.This paper used the Binary Logistic model to analyze the factors which affected elderly people's willingness to choose the off-site aging. This article believed that the willingness of the elderly to choose the off-site aging was not only affected by personal factors, but also influenced by family and social factors. The study found that the elderly residents in Shanghai had a low willingness to choose off-site aging.Less than 30% of the elderly were willing to adopt this aging type.More than 70% of the elderly were rejected to adopt elderly care in other places.Among them, elderly groups who were willing to carry out off-site aging were often “strong groups” with higher education levels and better health.Other groups who were unwilling to support off-site aging were often “vulnerable groups” with older age and poor adaptability. In addition, the frequency of travel in individual-level would have a significant impact on elderly people's off-site aging. The more the elderly people went out for travelling, the more willingness of off-site elderly would have.Families had the greatest influence on the willingness to choose the off-site aging. The intergenerational relationship between the elderly and the children would dilute the impact on the individual and society. The elderly who had a normal relationship with their children would have the highest willingness for the off-site aging. On the social level, the willingness of elderly people who have medical insurance was higher because Shanghai has implemented the coordination of medical insurance with several cities except Outpatient, which greatly improved the possibility of off-site aging for the elderly in Shanghai.
