The Research On Status Of Moral Shame And Education Guidance Of Farmers

After 40 years of reform and opening up,the appearance of rural society in China has undergone earth-shaking changes and the construction of rural material civilization has made a major breakthroughs.However,some areas of the peasants appeared the situation of moral loss at the same time,material civilization construction and spiritual civilization construction appeared unbalanced.President Xi Jinping’s series of important speeches put forward that we should correctly handle the relationship between the construction of material civilization and spiritual civilization in dialectical,comprehensive,balanced view.Moral shame is an important emotion support people’s moral bottom line.The content of people’s "shame" sets the tone of the social atmosphere.We can find out the unhealthy atmosphere in the countryside in time through investigating the status quo of farmers’ moral sense and moral bottom line of peasants’ behaviors.It also can provide reference for further cultivating civilized countryside and strengthening the construction of rural spiritual civilization to deal with the relationship between material civilization and spiritual civilization in a more balanced way.This paper takes the farmers’ moral sense of shame as perspective and combs the source of moral shame in China and abroad through literature research.It also sorts out the basic connotation,essence and characteristics of the modern sense of shame.An empirical investigation was carried out on 310 villagers in three villages in Hubei province from the three dimensions of social morality,professional ethics and family virtue.It understood the current status of farmer’s sense of shame,analyzed the sample sense of shame level difference between different demographic variables and explored the influence factors of farmer’s moral shame level.Finally,this paper puts forward the countermeasures and suggestions to strengthen cultivation of farmer’s moral shame sense.The results show that the mainstream of the farmers’ moral values is positive,but there are also problems such as the obvious tendency of benefit-oriented and the weakening of traditional virtues.In terms of gender,women have a higher level of shame sense than men;In terms of education degree,the level of shame sense was positively correlated with education level;In the aspect of political status,the level of shame sense of rural party members is higher.In terms ofinfluencing factors,this paper discusses the influence factors of farmer’s moral shame level from three aspects: the negative effect of rural social transformation and market economy,the restriction of the rural economic situation and party and government cadres at the grassroots did not pay enough attention,the limitation of farmer’s own cultural level and the influence of traditional smallholder consciousness.For the above research,this study proposes the following countermeasures: Adhere to the socialist core values to cultivate the value of farmers’ moral shame sense,strengthen the construction of rural spiritual civilization,improving method of farmer morality education,enriching the content of farmer moral sense cultivation.
