Reports On Children Sexual Abuse Under Frame Theory

From shame and negation to wakening up and attention,Child sexual abuse is not a subtle word in China,It has been widely reported by the media thus received a lot of attention from the public.this thesis based on the framework theory,adopting text analysis and content analysis to analyse and study the child sexual abuse case reported by People's Daily.It tries to carry out framework analysis from the high,medium and low-level,understanding the structure of sensitive issues such as child sexual abuse.The study shows that People's Daily often choose the official report and reprint most of the content when related to Child sexual abuse issues.With its reporting objective and neutral,the topic on reports are diverse in perspective.Seen from the framework of reporting child sexual abuse in People's Daily,the high level framework mainly focus on “children protection” and “social stability”.While the middle-level framework focuses on “issue statements” with objective and neutral perspective in relatively fixed reporting forms.The low-level framework often use "official discourse" to actively guide public opinions.Ideology,media properties,humanistic care,value orientation of the news and other factors played an important role in the construction of media reports framework,therefore leading to differences between media reality and the subjective reality.
