This paper is based on the research project called "Hundreds of Villages Observation" which is carried out by the China’s Rural Institute in Central China Normal University.By using the analysis method of "Individual Case Introduction-Process Description-Analysis and Interpretation-Conclusion",this paper made individual case analysis and empirical research on a landlord which had a special experience in Y village.Firstly,introduced the personal information of this landlord-XXB.Mainly pointed out Xu’s life experiences in Y village.Secondly,took Xu’s "special experience" in the land reform as the story line:starting from the social status and social circle before the land form to clarify the relations between Xu landlords and all the social stratum in Y Village;Furthermore,by describing the ’assembly for complaint’,’criticism’ and’imprisonment’ these key procedures in the land reform conflict,this paper compared the"special experience" of Xu with other landlords’ experiences,to demonstrate the process of village land reform which is involved all the sectors of village,then came out with the reasons of Xu’s "special experience".Lastly,briefly analyzed the possibility of Xu’s"special experience" and the internal mechanism behind the phenomenon.This paper argues that the family,marriage and relationships are the three components of social relations,which affected the whole story of the revolutionary struggle of land reform at different levels in different times.Among them,the family relationships changed the form of land reform struggle,marriage asylum affected the effectiveness of the land reform struggle,and the concept of human emotion which is based on interpersonal relations changed the class division criteria in land reform struggle.After the revolution of land reform,social relations continues to exist in the rural life,and then made an obviously effect on generating the rural governance body,the behavior of villagers’ self-governance,and the effectiveness of rural governance.It is a new attempt to examine the land reform revolution from the perspective of social relations.Therefore,this study has some realistic significance in some degree.Social relations is introduced as an analytic method to transfer people’s attention from the institutional factors such as politics and economy to the non-institutional factors.Aims to promote people from a deeper theoretical level to care the effects played by the social relations which are hidden in the social rural structure,then help readers to gain a better understanding about the whole picture of China’s local social life.
