Based on the visual verb "to see" and the action verb "to poke",this paper analyzes the differences between the visual "penetration" and the behavior penetration formed by the two with exposed semantic roots. There are fifth chapters in this paper. The first chapter is the introduction, which mainly introduces the reasons for choosing the topic, and summarizes the research status and shortcomings of predecessors. The second chapter makes a comparative analysis of the semantics of "kan X" and "chuo X".The third chapter compares the similarities and differences between "kanchuan" and "chuochuan","kanpo" and "chuopo" from grammatical perspective, and "kantou" and "chuotou".The fourth chapter is a pragmatic analysis and metaphorical comparison of visual penetration and behavior-induced penetration,The fifth chapter is the summary of the whole paper. This paper adopts the research methods of combining description and interpretation, contrastive analysis, searching big data corpus and referring to authoritative dictionaries, and analyzes the semantic similarities and differences of the complement composed of "see" and "poke",and then explores its metaphorical situation and communicative motivation. This paper finds that the semantic of the visual verb "see" is relatively complex, the semantic of the action verb "poke" is relatively simple, and "see X" emphasizes the process and focuses on the impact on the subject, while "poke X" emphasizes the result and focuses on the impact on the object. At the same time,it is found that the different semantic features of "see X" and "poke X" have different animacy orientation to the NP before and after them, and it is concluded that the "visual" penetrating metaphor belongs to the process metaphor, and the behavior-induced penetrating metaphor belongs to the entity metaphor.
