The Sichuan opera writers such as Xu Fen and Wei Minglun,known as drama sisters in China,have not only launched a series of excellent plays that have influenced the Chinese drama field,but also devoted themselves to the art practice of adapting foreign dramas with their keen sense,independent thinking,unique perspective,exquisite writing skills and great enthusiasm,which set off a wave of foreign drama in Sichuan Opera circle There has been an upsurge in the adaptation of drama,and a number of successful works have emerged.It was in the 1980 s and 1990 s that the number,time and achievements of the foreign drama masterpieces were directly adapted into Sichuan Opera repertoire.The successful adaptations and public performances of these plays are not limited to Sichuan.For example,adapted plays such as "good man in Sichuan" and "Raging waves in the sea of Desire" have been performed in Shanghai and Beijing,which have won warm welcome and wide attention,and have been highly praised by peers.Some plays have also been performed in Britain and Germany,where their scripts originated,and are highly praised.On the basis of a comprehensive review of the foreign theme dramas in Sichuan Opera,this paper clarifies the historical development and evolution of Sichuan Opera's adaptation of foreign drama,introduces and analyzes the creative background,academic schools,artistic characteristics and philosophical viewpoints of foreign drama writers from different countries,and analyzes the changes of content and story development trend of the new Sichuan opera series This paper analyzes the adaptation of foreign drama in Sichuan Opera,explores the creative law of Chinese drama adaptation of foreign drama,and finds new methods and paths for the innovation and development of drama in the new period ?...
