On The Adaptation Of Sichuan Opera

Adaption of classic opera and literature works is always an important creation method for Sichuan Opera. Jinzi is adapted from a modern drama, Yuanye, and it is very successful in both art achievement and audience reflection. This article studies the adaption and breakthrough of Jinzi in drama plot, music and stage performance, and some issues which must be taken notice of are raised in order to afford reference for opera operators.In drama plot, the leading role of Jinzi is transform to Hua Jinzi, a minor role in modern drama Yuanye. Her pursuing of happy life and her fate are set the main theme and principle thread of the whole work respectively, aimed to show her humanity.The singing practice, spoken part, vocal accompaniment and orchestration are very distinguishing, which is analyzed in this article.Different from traditional Sichuan Opera, Jinzi innovates in stage arrangement. Unique techniques of Sichuan Opera highlight it to a great extent.Finally, some principals are proposed, i.e., faith to the original, distinguishing feature and conform to the historical trend.
