| This is a project report on translation of the "History of the Ancient Near East Legal System" by the author in the first year of the MTI program,and selected the original texts and translations of Chapters 10 and 11 as the research objects.This book introduces the extraordinary history of the multicultural and legal system of the ancient Near East.From about 3000 BC,the narrative from the origin of the first city of Mesopotamia to the development of the Babylonian and Hatti kingdoms ended with the conquest of Alexandria ending the transformation of the ancient Near East.This translation report is mainly divided into five parts.The report begins with the background of the work and the meaning and structure of the report,including the author’s introduction and the introduction of the basic situation of the original text.The second part reviews the translation process during the project,mainly divided into pre-translation preparation,mid-translation and post-translation review,and strives to solve the problems and solutions in the entire review process.The third chapter is a brief review of the theoretical basis of this report-Rice’s text type theory,and at the same time analyzing the text type of the original text and the corresponding translation method.The fourth part analyzes the specific problems arising from the translation process,involving the translation of vocabulary and sentences and the influence of the differences between Chinese and Western cultures on translation.The last part is the summary of this translation report,explaining the experience and lessons in the translation process and the problems that need to be paid attention to and solved in the translation practice in the future. |
