Translation Practice Report On Neo4j’s Articles Of Association

Under the background of the "Belt and Road Initiative," the exchanges between China and foreign countries in various fields are becoming more frequent.In order to adequately protect the legitimate rights and interests of concerned parties,the study of the translation of legal texts has become the focus of the attention of scholars from legal and translation circles.This translation practice report is based on the English-Chinese translation task of the articles of association of an American information technology company.The articles of association belong to business legal text.The linguistic style of the research object in this report is formal and rigorous,and the syntax structure is complex and meticulous.In terms of words,the combination of legal language and financial terms has made it quite challenging to do the translation work.Therefore,how to deal with the synonyms and near-synonyms frequently appearing in the source text,understanding the sentence structure,and produce correct and smooth sentences,and further restore the style of legal documents are the focus and difficulties of this translation task.For those synonyms and synonyms in this report,the author classifies the typical examples listed in the case analysis part,and tries to figure out the correct meanings and the usage of these words based on the context,so as to select their appropriate equivalents.For the translation of long and complex sentences and passive sentences,the author makes an analysis at the grammatical and semantic levels,gains a full understanding of the source text,and adopts strategies of reforming sentence structures and reframing discourses to deliver a precise translation.The author hopes to summarize practical translation methods by writing this report and provide constructive suggestions to those who do the translation of the business legal text.By translating the source text and writing this report,the author has got a deeper understanding of legal text translation.At the same time,the author gave his suggestions in this report,hoping to provide a reference for other translators when they translate such texts.
