Research On English Translation Of Chinese Verb-complement Structures In Machine Translation

Chinese complement structure,as a special grammatical structure in Chinese,does not have a corresponding grammatical component in English.There are still many problems in the translation of Chinese supplementary structures in current machine translation software.This article collects sentences with descriptive complement structure in China Daily,and divides them into seven categories according to Mr.Huang Borong's classification criteria for descriptive complement structure.They are result complement,trend complement,possible complement,modal complement,and quantitative complement.,time and place complement and degree complement.And Youdao Translation,Google Translate,and Baidu Translate were used as machine translation practice tools to translate these sentences.Machine translation texts were obtained through machine translation,and machine translation problems were found under the contrast between machine translation texts and human translation texts.This paper has found that the Chinese-English machine translation problem of the complement structure mainly focuses on the result complement,degree complement and possible complement.These problems can be roughly divided into five categories:component translation,improper word selection,text mistranslation,grammatical problems,and discord.For these types of problem texts,suggestions are made for expanding the scope of the corpus,increasing the depth of dictionary interpretation,and incorporating linguistic knowledge.The research in this paper has contributed to the improvement of the complementarity machine translation problem to a certain extent.
