The continuous deepening of cooperation and development among the BRICS countries has greatly increased the interest and enthusiasm of the BRICS countries in learning Chinese.Brazil,as one of the "BRIC" countries, has seen a rapid increase in the number of Chinese learners, and the scale of Chinese language teaching has continued to expand. However, adverbial word order is a major obstacle encountered by students in Brazil and Portuguese-speaking countries in learning Chinese. As a Chinese volunteer teacher in Brazil, the author found that Brazilian students have more prominent word order errors when learning Chinese adverbials, and tried to explore ways to reduce the errors. On the basis of fully understanding and absorbing the research results of Chinese adverbials, this article starts with the comparative analysis of Chinese-Portuguese adverbials and finds that there are big differences in the types and positions of Chinese-Portuguese adverbials. The author selected a total of 298 adverbial word order errors from the students ’ daily homework exercises and examination papers collected during the teaching period. The errors are divided into time adverbial, location adverbial, target adverbial, method adverbial, degree adverbial, repeat adverbial, and scope adverbial. There are several types such as adverbial of reason and adverbial of reason, among which adverbial of time is the most, and adverbial of location is the second. Then, the thesis tries to explore the causes of errors and finds that in addition to the objective existence of the complexity of Chinese word order and the influence of the negative transfer of the mother tongue, the processing of language points in the textbook is also very important. On this basis, the thesis puts forward several teaching suggestions for reducing adverbial word order errors.Firstly,a teaching plan suitable for Brazilian students is formulated, and secondly, teachers are increased and the arrangement of textbooks is improved to help Brazilian students better learn Chinese adverbial word order.
