As a kind of biography, memoirs combine authenticity and literariness, and contain a large amount of description of objective realities. However,it can not be ignored that the personal styles based on the author's subjective expression are also reflected between the lines. Therefore, the two major tasks of translating memoirs are to bring back the objective realities in an authentic way and respect the subjective expression of the author.Clothes,Clothes,Clothes,Music,Music,Music,Boys,Boys: A Memoir is the memoir of British punk musician Viv Albertine. The challenges of translating it are to accurately convey the objective realities and reflect what the author wrote and thought. The translator's task is to reveal the facts of the original, without trying to weaken or erase the discrepancies between the original and the target text or weakening,by the translator's interpretation, the subjective expression of the author.Taking Antoine Berman's translation ethics of respecting the other and differences as the guiding principle and using Berman's negative analytic theory as the specific methods, the translator argues that in memoir translation, translators should fight against deformation tendencies and respect the heterogeneity in the objective realities described in memoirs by avoiding the change of tone and specific cultural characteristics caused by the tendencies of ennoblement and rationalization, and respect the heterogeneity in the subjective expression of the author by avoiding qualitative impoverishment, clarification, expansion, the destruction of underlying networks of signification and the destruction of expressions and idioms,so as to achieve the ethical goal of respecting the other and differences.
