In recent years,the research of teacher’s identity has become more and more hot in the field of general education and foreign language education.However,in the new field of international Chinese language education,which conforms to needs of the development of the times,in the complex international environment,how to find a way out for the international volunteer Chinese teachers whose responsibility is teaching Chinese and spreading Chinese culture,how is the situation of their identity as Volunteer Chinese teachers,and whether there is any identity crisis,there is little empirical research involved.This study bases on the questionnaire framework of the Foreign Language Teacher Identity Questionnaire in "The Identity Study of English Teachers in China’s High Schools"proposed by Xun Yang(2012),and makes adjustments and modifications to the specific content,combining the research methods of in-depth interview and text data analysis,to study the identity of 24 volunteers of international Chinese teachers who taught in Poland from 2019 to 2020.The aim is to explore the status quo of the identity of Polish Volunteer Chinese Teachers,to find out the performance of their identity crisis,and to reveal the causes of their identity crisis,in order to help Polish Volunteer Chinese Teachers’to avoid or successfully get through the identity crisis.The main findings are as follows:1.The overall level of identity of Volunteers of Polish Chinese teachers is at a high level,but there is still a big gap in the level of identity of volunteers of other international Chinese teachers compared with existing empirical studies.2.The level of identity of Polish Volunteer Chinese Teachers is generally not related to the length of teaching,undergraduate majors and pre-service career development planning,but the level of cultural identity in identity and teaching time show a positive correlation.3.There is an identity crisis between Polish Volunteer Chinese Teachers,and the performance of the identity crisis is roughly divided into:the imbalance between ideal expectation and realistic recognition in the life of Teaching in Poland and the occupational survival crisis of "where is the way".4.The causes of the identity crisis of Polish Volunteer Chinese Teachers mainly come from the following aspects:the international Chinese teaching workplace which lack expert teachers and dominated by new teachers,the policies and attitudes of the domestic society regarding international Chinese teachers and Volunteer,the outbreak of the global COVID-19.Through the above-mentioned research,this paper from the external environment and the individual teacher volunteers,put forward to help Polish Volunteer Chinese Teachers to avoid or successfully through the identity crisis of several suggestions,the main recommendations are as follows:(1)To improve the teacher education system based on cultivating the classroom teaching ability of international Chinese teachers;(2)to create a job management platform for returning teachers and volunteers;(3)to revise and improve the regulations for the management of international Chinese teachers and volunteers;(4)Hanban and Kongyuan should build an effective mechanism to deal with unexpected risks.(5)Polish Volunteer Chinese Teachers should strengthen their ability of reflection and reconstruct their personal identity in reflection.
