Translation Techniques In Opera Translation Under Relevance Theory

Xiao Gu Xian(The Virtuous Sister-in-law)is one of the most classic and popular Lyuju Operas.With vivid language and profound local flavour,Xiao Gu Xian gradually attracts nationwide audience’s eyes.However,although the "going global" strategy of Chinese opera prevails,Lyuju Opera is lagging behind due to the lack of appropriate ways and means of dissemination.Under the guidance of Ernst-August Gutt’s theory of relevance-theoretical translation,this thesis argues on how to translate culture-loaded words in Xiao Gu Xian,systematically analysing the classification of culture-loaded words and the corresponding translation techniques.By analysing the translation of Xiao Gu Xian,this thesis examines the classification and translation techniques of culture-loaded words.The translator found that relevance-theoretical translation theory has certain practical value for translating culture-loaded words.In addition,this thesis also innovates the classification of culture-loaded words,helping future translators extract and classify culture-loaded words better,which is also conducive for them to present Shandong local flavour to the world.
