Semantic field theory breaks down that traditional semantics cannot penetrate into the meaning of words and cannot grasp the systematicity of semantics,isolate the situation of studying words,and clarify that each word in a language system is related to each other,and they constitute a common complete vocabulary system.This article attempts to apply the semantic field theory to the teaching of elementary Chinese vocabulary,aiming to solve the vocabulary learning difficulties of elementary Chinese vocabulary learners.Focus on studying whether semantic field theory is justified in elementary Chinese vocabulary teaching,how to apply semantic field theory in vocabulary teaching,whether semantic field theory can help learners to improve vocabulary,and what is semantic field theory in elementary Chinese vocabulary teaching insufficiency and teaching suggestions.This article takes Thumpinwittayakhom School in Phayao Province,Thailand as an example to conduct an eight-week teaching experiment.The experimental group and the control group are tested before and after the experimental design to confirm the rationality and feasibility of applying the semantic field theory to the primary Chinese vocabulary teaching.Through statistical and comparative analysis methods,the post-test results are analyzed in many ways,which further proves that the teaching method can effectively help students improve their vocabulary and improve their vocabulary learning efficiency,which is conducive to the improvement of students’ Chinese level.The study found that the vocabulary learners at the primary stage mainly have three problems: "inadequate vocabulary,improper word collocation and word meaning discrimination".In view of the elementary stage students’ Chinese proficiency and learning characteristics,teachers can reasonably use "actively constructing semantic fields","subject word teaching","establishing connections between meaning fields","analyzing and summarizing vocabulary" and other methods to help learning learners learn and master vocabulary more efficiently,improve the learner’s vocabulary,help students use word collocations correctly and accurately analyze word meaning,and thus improve their Chinese expression ability.This article also puts forward the difficulties in teaching under the guidance of the semantic field theory,as well as the shortcomings in the teaching practice under the theoretical guidance and some of my own thinking,hoping to provide practical experience for the teaching of Chinese vocabulary as a foreign language and help learners to learn,memorize and master vocabulary more efficiently.
