Chinese food culture has a long history.There is a saying that "food is the most important thing for the people,and taste comes first in food",which can be seen that the most important thing in cooking is the taste of food,the most attention is paid to the taste of food,while delicious food can not be separated from condiments.The development of economy,of course,has driven the development of condiment industry.The requirements of consumers for condiment is upgrading day by day.The packaging design of condiment is getting more and more attention.However,in the aspect of the current market condiment packaging design,most of them have some problems:disunity in content and form,lack of originality and homogeneity.As the upgrading of consumption,consumers' demand for condiment packaging is no longer simply staying in the basic functions of packaging,but more on the emotional level,paying more attention to the emotional relationship between packaging and consumers.Taking the packaging design of chili sauce in Xiaoluo village of Tianquan County as an example,this paper discussed the perception of taste in the packaging design of condiments,in an effort to make consumers to experience and associate the taste and other senses through packaging,thus enhancing consumers' emotional experience of the packaging design of condiments.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction,which mainly discusses the significance and purpose of integrating taste symbols into condiment packaging design.The second part is to conduct the exploration of the relationship between packaging and consumers' psychological demands through analyzing consumer psychology and packaging design of popular condiments on the market.The third part is to explore how to use the design language of packaging to build taste perception by closely surrounding the graphics,words,colors and materials in packaging design,which is aimed at achieving the use of packaging and consumer emotional resonance,promote product sales.The fourth part is about the practical process of packaging design of pepper sauce in Xiaoluo village of Tianquan County.The fifth part is the theoretical summary.
