Bi shumin is a well-known writer in literary world at the present age.She has experienced the career changes of doctor,writer and psychological consultant successively.Her rich life experience and long medical career have provided her with creative inspiration,and achieved her unique dual writing perspective of medicine and literature.In the late 1990 s,the combination of medicine and literature gave birth to a new discipline,narrative medicine,which studies the narrative ability presented in medical practice,referring to the ability to absorb,interpret and be moved by the story of disease.And it provides more effective and personalized treatment for patients.Her novels tell the stories of many diseases and the narrative ability of doctors.Therefore,the perspective of narrative medicine provides a new opportunity and a different way of interpretation for bi shumin’s novels.This paper explores the origin and theoretical construction of narrative medicine,and discusses her novels from this theoretical perspective.Bi shumin has a special interest in diseases writing resources.Combining with the theory of narrative medicine,this paper reveals the unique medical humanistic significance contained in the writing of diseases in her novels,so as to grasp her series of medical novels as a whole.By summing up the three kinds of common medical characters in her novels,this paper explains the acceptance of patients by medical workers and the cooperation of patients’ families,shows the empathy of doctors and the recovery and identification of patients’ self-identity,and further analyzes the vital role played by patients’ families in the rehabilitation.She opposite and death,meanwhile,has a unique and distinguished,she abandoned the traditional Chinese view of,calm,resilience,sensible way to explore value of life and death,her mission to care for patients with a high degree of writer humanity and dignity,full of narrative medicine advocated humanitarian spirit.Doctor-patient conflict is an important problem in medical practice.She discusses medical issues such as doctor-patient relationship and euthanasia with the author’s persistence,and has more thoughts on medical ethics.The characteristics of Bi shumin’s fiction are viewed from the visual angle of narrative medicine.Her works show the language of medicine and the style of cold and hot interweaving,while the narrative features realize the dialogue between narrative and medicine by paying attention to,reproducing and belonging.
