Creative Thinking On Ruin Theme Art

Since the 1990 s,many cities in China have been demolished,rebuilt,and upgraded for rapid development.On the one hand,the functions of the city have been greatly improved;on the other hand,new-style communities,business districts have destroyed the ecological culture of traditional human settlements.The phenomenon is quite prominent.The replacement of urban architecture is affected by technological progress and changes in concepts.However,the changes in the visual form of the environment and culture can most easily stimulate the artist's sensitive nerves.Therefore,contemporary artists focus their creative perspective on the art of the theme of urban demolition ruins.Artists explain the multiple meanings brought by the demolition of ruins from the perspectives of society,groups,and self by using diverse creative forms,present social ecological problems and put forward that demolition and reconstruction are crucial to the continuity of public memory and living space,which need more concerns later.My graduation creation "Disappearance and Renascence" series is based on the social phenomenon of demolition of small and medium cities,focusing on the two aspects of demolition of residential houses and factories in the city,using nostalgia and cold,two contradictory colors.My works are presented by reconstructing three-dimensional sections and applying comprehensive materials.Facing the visual cultural picture after the city's change,and refining the theme image of its demolition ruins,my works aim to accurately convey my emotional experience and artistic attitude.Finally,the artistic inspiration obtained through my graduation creation is objectively summarized.
