Narrative Research On Russian Sports Films In The Past Decade (2009-2019)

Sports movies are a type of movie that combines sports and movie art.Most of these films use the language of the movie to shape the image of athletes and show the tenacious and hard-working sportsmanship.There are many excellent sports films in the history of world cinema,and many masterpieces familiar to audiences have also been shot in my country.After decades of development,my country’s sports movies have begun to merge with various types of movies,showing diverse,popular and market characteristics.However,from the perspective of market performance,the audience is still narrow,and the repertoire and attendance are not as good as mainstream cinema films."Phenomenon-level" movies have never appeared.And many sports films made in Russia in the past ten years have not only gained high box office revenue,but also made the audience feel the artistic charm of Russian sports films.The success of these "phenomenal" sports films is worthy of our study and reference.To this end,within the theoretical framework of narratology,the author uses literature methods,text analysis methods and other research methods to study Russian sports films in the past decade(2009-2019),in order to reveal the reasons for the success of Russian sports films.After research,it has been found that Russian sports films in the past decade have not only followed the traditional sports film narrative methods,but also presented certain characteristics in narrative themes,narrative perspectives,and narrative language.In the 13 sports films studied,the narrative characters are mainly athletes and coaches.From a variety of perspectives,including the omniscience perspective,the patriotism,sportsmanship,and personal growth have been launched by shaping the protagonist’s positive and optimistic personality.The theme of the story.At the same time,the narrative structure of the film has diversified characteristics.The creators not only use the causal narrative structure to spread the interlocking stories,but also use the conjugated clump structure to display the group portraits of Russian sports athletes.The prose contrast narrative structure also creates a lyrical and expressive narrative atmosphere for the audience.The characteristic use of the narrative elements such as camera lens,montage,character language,music and sound enriches the audio-visual experience of sports movies and contributes to the narrative.Russian sports films during this period vividly showed the current situation ofRussian athletes and Russian sports life.The theme style conveys positive energy such as patriotism,sportsmanship,etc.It also portrays the bravery and perseverance of Russian sports athletes,but also the emotional and contradictory personality characteristics.The innovation of this article is to comprehensively and systematically study the narrative characteristics of 13 Russian sports films in the past decade.The shortcomings of this article are that the author lacks the experience of living in the Russian social and cultural environment,and cannot directly talk with the film creators to understand their creative ideas.Some conclusions may be biased and omissions.It is hoped that subsequent researchers can supplement and correct it.
