Research On Deng Yuanxi’s Theory Of Psychology

Deng Yuanxi is one of the representatives of Jiangyou Wangxue.He was teached by Zou Dongkuo as a disciple of Yangming second generation.Together with Wu Yubi,Liu Yuanqing and Zhang Huang,he was called "the four gentlemen of Jiangyou".Deng Yuanxi’s thoughts originated from Yangming’s psychology and also have their own unique features.Deng Yuanxi advocated on the theory of Psychology: "Based on foundation,and reached the Tao";theory of moral cultivation advocated: "sincerity" runs through "conscience";it is reflected in the thought of how to do in the world: the essence of life is the most important.This article intends to analyze the reasons for the formation of his thoughts through the textual references of Deng Yuanxi’s teachers and friends and his writings,so as to gain a glimpse into the evolution of Yangming’s post-school studies.By comparing with the Yangming scholars of the same period,it shows the uniqueness of Deng Yuanxi’s thought.Finally,Deng Yuanxi’s Confucianism,Buddhism,and Discrimination are the unfolding of his philosophical thoughts,which are fully exposed in "On Confucianism and Buddhism".Through the analysis of "On Confucianism and Buddhism",it clarifies Deng Yuanxi’s unique Buddhist and Confucianism,combining the background of the middle and late Ming dynasties and Deng Yuanxi’s personal experience,and reveals the development dilemma of the Yangming School of Buddhism and Confucianism.
