In this translation practice,the translator chooses the fourth chapter— “Promoting the Fairness of Educational Judiciary via Classic Cases” to translate from the book From Rule by Law to Rule of Law: China’s Path to the Law-based Educational Governance authored by Professor Shen Suping and attempts to explore how to promote the fairness of educational judiciary through model cases so as to protect the legitimate rights and interests of students,teachers,schools and other subjects.Such translation principles as ?ar?evi?’ views on text typology and “standardizing” and “communication” proposed by Zhao Junfeng are applied to carry out this translation practice.The report further analyzes some specific translation techniques and methods from the lexical level and syntactic level.This translation practice consists of two parts.The first part is the preparation before translation,including determining the source text,analyzing the features of the source text,finding parallel texts,and building a glossary.The second part is to translate the source text and discuss possible solutions to the problems or difficulties encountered in the translation practice.The translator has benefited considerably from this challenging yet rewarding translation practice,which helps the translator improve translation skills,have a deeper understanding of China’s educational evolution,take a more flexible approach to search information,and make effective teamwork.
