Discussion On The Expressive Force Of Brushstrokes In Repin's Oil Paintings

As an outstanding Russian realist painter in the 19 th century,Repin has high attainments in the themes such as portrait painting,historical painting,genre painting,etc.And through long-term study and exploration,he has formed his own unique painting expression and artistic style.It is expressed uniquely from others which is mainly based on the brushstroke of the picture.This paper is stand on the angle of brushstroke expressions and sum up these four significant characteristics of oil painting brushstrokes through the observation and analysis of Repin's brushwork in oil painting performance characteristics such as size,thickness,strength,which is rigorous,powerful,changeable and energetic.Then the author demonstrates the impacts on Repin's oil painting brushstroke such as the background,the learning environment,teachers and friends,at the same time,the author reveals expressions of psychological characteristics and the social nationality aesthetic value,so as to further understanding of the meaning of Repin's oil painting brushstrokes.Finally,combining with the expressive characteristics of the brushstrokes in Repin's oil paintings,the importance of the brushstroke is explored again as painting languages in the creation process.This paper has 44 pictures and 60 references.
