How To Deal With Chinese Traditional Subjects In Film Creation

With the resurgence of the "new wave" of Chinese culture,more and more "Chinese elements" have appeared in films.However,both Chinese domestic films and western films represented by Hollywood fail to convey the core of Chinese traditional culture accurately and profoundly in a symbolic way.Based on the works of Chinese traditional themes in Chinese and western films,this paper discusses the phenomenon that the core of Chinese themes is not fully demonstrated,and puts forward some solutions to explore the practical significance and value of in-depth interpretation of Chinese themes.The first chapter starts with the current situation of Chinese traditional themes in film creation,analyzes the differences between Chinese and western literature and art materials and the reasons,especially highlighting the different perspectives when choosing Chinese themes and the reasons for the differences.From the perspective of key symbolic elements,the second chapter explains how to deal with the audio-visual aspects of traditional Chinese themes in films and how to deal with the content of traditional themes at the level of stories.The third chapter is the author's reflective summary on how to explore and try the above contents in the creation process of graduation micro film Tai You.
