In recent years,many novels have been adapted into films and moved to the screen.With Mo Yan winning the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2012,pioneer writers and avant-garde novels have once again become the focus of literary circles and public opinion.With the rapid development and progress of modern media,more avant-garde novels are electrocuted,so how to theory,how to innovate,and whether or not to successfully adapt the avant-garde novels becomes an important research topic.The director-centered structure system of the Chinese film pushes the director to the forefront of the adaptation of the avant-garde novel,and the director who is at the core of the film plays a decisive role in the success of the adaptation of the avant-garde novel film Zhang Yimou,as a representative director of the pioneer novel,has adapted Mo Yan's Red Sorghum,Su Tong's wife and concubine,and Yu Hua's Living to the screen.This thesis consists of five chapters.First of all,the introduction of the current academic research on the avant-garde novel film adaptation of the domestic research status and Zhang Yimou and the relationship between the novel walking side by side,on the basis of a review of the basic research ideas and research purposes and significance.It is not only practical and operable to study the film adaptation of pioneer novels from the new angle of director Zhang Yimou,but also a new exploration and beneficial supplement to the artistic path of film adaptation novels.The first chapter traces the relationship between Zhang Yimou and the pioneer writer from the source,and combs Zhang Yimou's own unique life experience and artistic pursuit.In the middle and late 1980 s,Zhang Yimou,who was on the stage of art and history,and the pioneer writers who were gradually mature in the same period,shared each other with each other because of the common purpose of creation,the great influence of the times environment and the sharing of novels.gate to the journey of the world.The second chapter summarizes Zhang Yimou's highly mature and subjective adaptation system and ingenious adaptation strategy formed by his unique life experience and artistic pursuit.Zhang Yimou,as a special reader who works with avant-garde writers,attaches great importance to the image standard.His artistic adaptation of avant-garde novels,such as the extreme use of expressive colorlanguage,traditional musical instruments and musical design,has gradually made avant-garde novels into film.In addition,Zhang Yimou's artistic adaptation of the literary imagination of the avant-garde the "re-creation" of the plot and characters of the novel,which breaks the traditional idea that the adaptation should be faithful to the original works.The third chapter probes into the great differences between the two subjects,and analyzes the deconstruction of the avant-garde novels in narrative space,narrative perspective and narrative theme.Zhang Yimou's stiff replacement of the original narrative space of the avant-garde novel makes the people in it nowhere to be home,and the forced shedding of the unique narrative perspective and the active shallowing of the complex narrative theme further result in the fragmentation and deformity of the emotion,interest and connotation of the avant-garde novel,thus showing Zhang Yimou's artistic limitation,lack and deficiency to some extent as the core subject of the film adaptation of the pioneer novel.The fourth chapter analyzes and summarizes Zhang Yimou's reconstruction of national myth,female myth,modeling myth and so on for many subjective factors such as life experience,artistic pursuit and his own cultural global strategy.The creation of inspiration and spark after the collision between the avant-garde character and Zhang Yimou prompted Zhang Yimou to weave the avant-garde novel into a subversive Chinese myth and immortal oriental legend,and to reshape the world image of the Chinese film,thus showing the new place of the adaptation of the film independent of the pioneer novel and highlighting the pioneer novel under Zhang Yimou's guidance great achievements of the film.The fifth chapter summarizes the enlightenment of the avant-garde novel's image shaping,and discusses the interpretation from three aspects: the initial text selection,the processing of the shooting process and the goal of the film presentation.Zhang Yimou,as a director with special independence,put forward new observation,new path,new thinking and new way for film adaptation of avant-garde novel.The choice of adaptation text should follow the principle of "heartbeat" and consider the imaging potential of pioneer text.To reflect and explore others as a mirror,and then For a new generation of directors to direct the adaptation of pioneer novels and literature to provide a number of reference experience.Taking Zhang Yimou's pioneer novel film adaptation as a case study,the director is inspired to re-examine the relationship between film and pioneer novel from a newperspective,to fill the gaps and gaps in the film history and film criticism history of pioneer novel,to deepen the exploration and reflection on the gains and losses of Chinese pioneer novel film adaptation,to promote the interactive regeneration of film and novel more widely,and to provide reference theory and practical experience for the social trend of film industryization and film industrialization.
