The emergence and development of the Internet has changed the communication mode among social members,and the interpersonal communication has gradually changed from the face to face communication to the online communication.As a new way of online communication,live streaming has been deeply involved in the study and life of college students.As a stable variable,personality affects behaviors Personality is closely related to online communication,but the internal mechanism between them is not clear.In this study,college students were selected as the subjects Human needs and loneliness were considered at the same time.The study was analyzed the situation of watching live streaming,further investigated the mechanism of interpersonal needs and loneliness between personality and online communication,in order to provide references for the practical workBy means of a questionnaire survey,654 college students were selected in Tianjin to investigate by using Chinese Big Five Personality Inventory Brief Version(CBF-PI-B),Interpersonal Needs Questionnaire(INQ),UCLA Loneliness Scale(UCLA),Internet Interaction Questionnaire for University Students(IIQUS)and a Self-Developed Questionnaire for Live Streaming.The results of the study found that:1.The usage rate of live streaming was higher among college students.The contact modes and watching contents of live streaming were diversified,and the watching time and places were concentrated in the evening at the dormitory.The reasons for watching were diversified,and most people believed that live streaming had a positive impact to their college life2.There were differences in the demographic variables of personality,interpersonal needs,loneliness and online communication.Female students scored significantly higher than male students in neuroticism,while urban students scored significantly higher in extraversion than rural students.The interpersonal needs of college students were above the average level.The interpersonal needs of male students were higher than those of female students,the interpersonal needs score of rural college students were higher than those of urban college students,and the interpersonal needs score of the one-child were higher than those of non-one-child The overall level of loneliness was higher in college students.The scores of male students were higher than those of female students,and the scores of one-child were higher than those of non-one-child.In general,the scores of college students’ online communication were above the average level.The scores of online communication,internet self-disclosure,internet interaction dependence and internet interpersonal relationship of male students were higher than female students.The scores of internet self-disclosure and internet interpersonal relationship of rural college students were lower than city college students,and one-child scored higher than non-one-child in online communication3.The level of agreeableness of live streaming users was lower than that of non live streaming users.As the level of interpersonal needs and loneliness increased,the frequencies of watching live streaming increased.The level of online communication of live streaming users was higher than that of non live streaming users4.There were significant correlations between personality,interpersonal needs,loneliness and online communication.Interpersonal needs and loneliness partially mediated between the relationship of neuroticism and online communication Interpersonal needs and loneliness played a complete mediating role between the relationship of conscientiousness and online communication,and they also played a complete mediating role between the relationship of agreeableness and online communication.
