With the development and refining of the archeology,“Clothing Archeology”,a new branch of this kind of science,was proposed in modern times.Harada Yoshito,one of the Japanese modern age archeology pioneers,is also the one who established a clothing archeology system in the study of archaeological culture in East Asia originally.His study mainly focuses on costume research from Han Dynasty to Tang Dynasty in China,and describes it according to clothing names,categories and the evolution of the history.Connected with Han and Tang,it achieves the leap of time;connected with Chinese culture and other cultures,it realizes the combination of space as well.This thesis will research Harada's archeological costumes system from the perspective of archeological history,aiming to explore the thread and influence.Harada's life experiences determine his research methods;his archeological practice and Sino-Japanese cultural exchanges provide materials for the clothing research;and all these ultimately contribute to the establishment of his clothing archeology system.On the basis of summarizing the important parts of the research on the Chinese clothing archeology system,the sources,applications and deficiencies of clothing archeological data are sorted out.In this way,this thesis will further explore the content and evolution of the clothing archeology system,analyze the relationship between costume history and clothing archeology,and the contribution of the archeology clothing study,which can impact the Chinese clothing archeology study and offset the blank of cloth research in this area.
