In the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language,teaching of neutral tone words plays an inestimable role in improving the learner’s Chinese proficiency.Neutral tone words is special kind of phonological phenomenon in Mandarin.People use neutral tone words in oral communication.Therefore,it is not in place and directly affects the students’ voice.At present,there are few articles on the study of double-syllable neutral tone words in Thai students using acoustic experiments.Most of the articles are limited to neutral tone words ontology research,or research dialect problems.Therefore,this article takes Thai native students as the research object,and uses acoustic experiments to study their problems in the acquisition of double-syllable neutral tone words.The main research aims to analyze the problem of non-standard pronunciation of neutral tone words in Thai students,and use the praat experiment software to conduct auditory and acoustic experiments on the acquisition of neutral tone words in Thai students,and analyze the causes of errors from the data to propose relevant teaching suggestions.This article analyzes the experimental results of the double-syllable neutral tone words of Thai students.The results are analyzed from three aspects: pitch,intensity and length.Each aspect is divided into the analysis of Yinping,Yangping,Shangsheng,Qusheng and neutral tone words.We mainly analyze the vocal pitch,intensity,and length characteristics of Thai students,and find out the bias of Thai students’ neutral tone words pronunciation by comparing with the standard sounds.The experimental results show that Thai students have different degrees of bias in the acquisition of double-syllable neutral tone words.The main performances are as follows:(1)In terms of pitch,the specific difference is that the tone value of Yin Ping is different,the tone pattern is not flat,the trend of Yang Ping tone pattern is inconsistent,the detuned tone range is not wide enough,and the tone is not obvious enough.In terms of pitch,the problem that students in grades 3 and 4 in Thailand are prone to is that the starting and ending points of the T value are higher than the standard,and the tone range is wider than the standard.In contrast,the students in grades 5 and 6 are better than those in grades 3 and 4.Students master better;(2)In terms of sound intensity,the common problem that Thai students have is that the neutral tone of the latter word is too strong and not weak enough,especially in the combination of "Yangping + neutral tone",the pronunciation of neutral tone word of Thai students is stronger than the firstword.The performance of the fifth and sixth grade students is particularly obvious.On the contrary,in the pronunciation of the first word Yangping,the pronunciation of Thai students is weaker than the latter word.This phenomenon completely violates the rules of neutral tone word pronunciation,which is a more serious problem that Thai students have in mastering neutral tone word;(3)In terms of sound length,the common problem that Thai students have is that no matter which combination of neutral tone words,the duration of neutral tone is too long,the most obvious is the combination of "Shangsheng + neutral tone".In this combination,the length of neutral tone of Thai students is longer than that of Shangsheng,which is also a serious problem.The reasons for the errors in Thai students ’double-syllable neutral tone words can be divided into objective factors and subjective factors.The main factors are the negative transfer of mother tongue,the influence of language environment and the influence of teaching.The effect of negative mother tongue transfer specifically refers to the negative impact of Thai language on students learning Chinese.The main performances are as follows:(1)In terms of pitch,the pitch of Yinping in front of Thai students softly is low,mainly affected by the first tone of Thai.Yangping tone type becomes a tune,mainly influenced by the fifth tones of Thai.The detonation domain is narrow,and the detonation is not in place.It is mainly affected by the third tone of Thai;(2)In terms of sound intensity,Thai students ’undertones are too soft and are related to the characteristics of Thai“ word stress postposition ”;(3)In terms of sound length,the excessively long neutral tone of Thai students is related to the reason for the long vowels in Thai.In terms of language environment,the environment in which the students are located lacks a sufficient Chinese language environment;in teaching,teachers’ lack of attention and inappropriate teaching methods are also one of the main reasons.In addition,there are other reasons,such as the lack of teaching materials,the regular characteristics of neutral tone words and so on.Corresponding teaching suggestions and countermeasures are proposed according to the reasons for the errors of Thai students ’double-syllable neutral tone words,mainly from teachers and students.First,teachers should pay attention to the awareness of teaching and improve the knowledge of Chinese teachers.We must pay attention to the consciousness of neutral tone learning,improve the ability to distinguish neutral tone words,and strengthen the practice.In addition,the relevantcontent of the teaching materials can be improved,and the praat software can be used for neutral tone teaching.
