The report is based on the E-C translation practice of China and India's Development and Cooperation in Africa–The Rise of Southern Powers(Chapters 4-6),which explores the reasons why China and India conduct development and cooperation in Africa. This book is a political text featuring strong professionalism and complex sentence structures, and there is strong logic in the words, sentences and text layout. The focus of this report is logic reproduction in the translation. The difficulties of logic reproduction in the translation are summed up and categorized into three levels of vocabularies, sentences and paragraphs. In view of the problems at different levels, the translator uses logic knowledge and combines with specific examples to analyze the corresponding translation strategies and solutions. At the lexical level, logic conception is first handled by figuring out the connotation of concepts, limiting and expanding the concepts, and analyzing the relationship between concepts. At the sentence level, the translation shift theory is introduced. The translator uses the theory of structural and unit shifts of the sentences to adjust the word order and shift active to passive sentences as well as affirmative to negative ones.As for the level of paragraphs, the translator mainly discusses the logical causation, transition and condition relations implied in the source text and reproduces the logical coherence of the source language.Through this translation practice, the translator has a better understanding of the features of political texts, and learn to apply translation theories and logics to the reproduction of these features. It is hoped that this practice report can provide some reference for translators in related fields.
