Study On Musical Thought In Lüshi Chunqiu

The thesis takes the music theory of Lüshi Chunqiu as the research object,and mainly studies the source of the music theory of Lüshi Chunqiu,the origin of music,the music theory and the Tao of heaven,musical aesthetics and the function of music.The music theory in the pre-Zhuzi period and the Zhuzi period had a profound influence on the music theory in Lüshi Chunqiu.Lüshi Chunqiu completely inherited the socio-political functions of music and the aesthetic standards of harmony of the music theory in the pre-Zhuzi period.Lüshi Chunqiu mostly inherits the Confucian theory of music,but on the question of whether music should take benevolence as the core,Lüshi Chunqiu believes that music originates from "Taiyi"("Tao"),and considers music to be imitation of natural sound,which is the thought of Taoism.Lüshi Chunqiu opposes the "non-music" theory of the Mohist and Legalists,and sees the positive role of music in social politics.Generally speaking,the music theory of Lüshi Chunqiu is founded on the core of Taoism and the absorption of Confucianism.Lüshi Chunqiu believes that music originated from imitation,and instruments and techniques also originated from imitation,and that early music has experienced a long period of time,from monophonic verses to melody harmony,from hand-to-hand dance to the dance of the department,from the appendage of other activities to becoming an independent human activity.Lüshi Chunqiu strongly expressed the enlightenment significance of nature to early Chinese ancient music art and musical works.The four "tones" in the South,the East,the North and the West contained in Lüshi Chunqiu represent the formation of the earliest regional folk songs.Among the pre-Qin thinkers,Lüshi Chunqiu is the most comprehensive exposition of the origin of music,and raised the theory of pre-Qin music to a new height.Lüshi Chunqiu believes that music must have "measures",with "harmony" and "appropriateness" as the criteria,and at the same time,music fundamentally originates from "Tao"("Taiyi").It recognizes that there is a strict logical metric relationship within the music,and raising this metric relationship to "Taiyi" has a strong philosophy.Lüshi Chunqiu inherits the "numerical" thinking mode in early Chinese thought."Five","Six","Eight" and "Twelve" are the four most important numbers in the music theory of Lüshi Chunqiu.In addition,"three" is also a special number in early Chinese thought.Lüshi Chunqiu put forward the "three-point profit and loss method" to calculate the rhythm,and it is also the embodiment of the "number" thinking mode.Lüshi Chunqiu also believes that there is a mutual induction mode between music and nature,human heart,society and politics,which is a concrete manifestation of early Chinese induction thinking.Lüshi Chunqiu raises the awareness of music to the height of philosophy,and contains profound philosophical thinking.Lüshi Chunqiu comprehends the inherent law and essence of music aesthetics based on Taoist doctrine.The idea of "yishi tingshi" in Lüshi Chunqiu not only has similarities with Confucianism,but also incorporates Taoist thought and associates music with health thought.In Lüshi Chunqiu,the theory of music about the relationship between "nature" and "music" is more understood as one's own nature of life with the help of Taoism,and is also influenced by Xunzi's human nature theory.Lüshi Chunqiu puts forward the proposition that "the key to making your heart comfortable is to convince people with reason",and "reason" has become a key factor in music aesthetics.Through the discussion of concepts such as "rightness","neutralization","reason" and so on,Lüshi Chunqiu is to build a relatively strict aesthetic system of music.Lüshi Chunqiu has a relatively comprehensive understanding of the functions of music.Lüshi Chunqiu both recognizes that music makes people happy,and has a subtle effect on human physiology and psychology.Because of the honesty of music,the gentlemen can create pleasant music.At the same time,Lüshi Chunqi realized that music has a health function.On the basis of health,music also affects human agricultural activities.In addition,music has the function of religious sacrifice.Music is a means of sacrificing gods.Music is a medium for people to communicate with their faith objects and express their awe.In addition,music also has the function of political education and the chaos of a country can be seen from the music of that country.We can see that Lüshi Chunqi draws on Confucianism when discussing the functions of music.
