Grammar is an important part of language learning,especially in junior high school.In the traditional grammar lessons,teachers dominate the classroom by explaining grammar knowledge,while students listen passively to the teacher.To make matters worse,some teachers overemphasize the explanation of grammar in class.However,with the development of communicative teaching method,the ability to use language is much more focused.How to combine the learning of grammar rules and develop the language ability have been brought into discussion for a long time.Therefore,Task-based language teaching emerges as the time requires.The paper applies different research ways as pre-test method,post-test method,interview method and questionnaire method to probe the effectiveness and feasibility of TBLT in the English grammar teaching class.There are two problems the author aims to solve: 1)To what extent,does TBLT promote students' language proficiency and ability in their grammar learning in junior high school? 2)How does TBLT stimulate students' interest and motivation in their grammar learning and help them get higher scores? There are 85 students taking part in the teaching experiment,among whom 41 students are in experimental class and 44 are in controlled class.The experimental class adopts the TBLT in teaching grammar while the controlled class adopts the traditional 3P teaching method.In addition,the students in both classes are asked to complete the questionnaire and interview which involve their reflection on current English learning,interest,attitude and motivation towards learning English and their ideas of the language teaching methods.Then the author collects the statistical data,conducts detailed analysis and also concludes some findings from the research.At last,the statistical analysis reveals that TBLT is a more effective teaching method than traditional English grammar teaching and it helps learners to improve their interest and motivation and get higher scores.The structure of the paper consists of five parts.The first chapter is the introduction,which briefly introduces the background and significance of this research.The second chapter is the literature review,including grammar teaching,task-based grammar teaching theory and research status at home and abroad.The third chapter introduces the research program of this study,including research questions,research objects and research methods and researching procedures.The fourth chapter analyzes the interview results,questionnaire survey data and compares students' grammar test before and after the experiment.The fifth chapter summarizes the research,briefly mentions the difficulties encountered in the research and the shortcomings of task-based grammar teaching in junior high school,finally points out the limitations of the research,and puts forward suggestions for future research and teaching.
