| Scientific class evaluation is of great significance to heighten the quality of classroom teaching,advance the professional quality of teachers and further strengthen and deepen the reform of basic education curriculum.By analyzing the class evaluation of junior middle school English novice teachers and experienced teachers,this study mainly answers the following three questions:1.What is the current situation of English teacher’s class evaluation in junior middle school?2.What are the differences between English novice teachers and experienced teachers in class evaluation?3.What are the reasons for the differences between English novice teachers and experienced teachers?In this study,novice teachers and experienced teacher’s class evaluation were recorded and transcribed into text.Based on the LICC classroom observation framework,this study aims to comprehend the current situation of junior middle school English teachers’ class evaluation,and to explore the differences between NT and ET in class evaluation from four dimensions of Learning,Instruction,Curriculum and Culture which including 20 elements.Then,this study analyzes the reasons for the differences between the two types of teachers’ class evaluation through interviews,and puts forward suggestions.The results show that:1.Through the analysis on the class evaluation of junior middle school English teachers,it can be seen that junior middle school English teachers can consciously pay attention to the interaction between teachers and students,give consideration to both the classroom leader and the main body,and seek a rich and comprehensive elements of evaluation,which is worthy of affirmation.However,there are still some problems such as nonstandard class evaluation,lack of sensitivity to the nature of courses,greedy and comprehensive perspective of class evaluation,lack of integrity and nonstandard.2.Through the comparative analysis on the class evaluation of junior middle school English novice teachers and experienced teachers,it can be seen that experienced teachers pay more attention to students’ learning and can take students as the starting point to clarify the main position of students in teaching.Novice teachers focus more on teachers’ teaching than experienced teachers,which shows that novice teachers pay more attention to thedevelopment of their teaching professional competence.Experienced teachers pay more attention to the elements of curriculum nature,focus more on the content of teaching and learning in class evaluation,and grasp the nature of English discipline more accurately.Novice teachers consciously observe curriculum culture from multiple perspectives.3.The reasons for the differences between novice teachers and experienced teacher’s evaluation are as follows: experienced teachers have a complete knowledge structure of class evaluation,while novice teachers have a weak theoretical basis of class evaluation;experienced teachers put students in the main position of teaching;novice teachers are teacher led;experienced teachers are in the period of career exploration,pursuing more efficient teaching;novice teachers are in the stage of focusing on survival,eager to improve professional competence;experienced teachers have a better comprehension of students’ learning situation;novice teachers can not accurately grasp the situation of students’ learning ability and cognitive level.Some suggestions are put forward: novice teachers should enhance communication and cooperation with experienced teachers,strengthen the reserve of theoretical knowledge in class evaluation;correctly construct the main position of students in English learning;and pay attention to students’ knowledge level and thinking quality,so as to achieve the all-round development of professional competence. |
