With the rapid development of the Internet and information technology,the continuous popularization of mobile smart devices and the rapid pace of modern society,things represented by the "micro",such as WeChat,Weibo,micro films and micro novels,develop fast,which affect people's lifestyles.With the deep integration of information technology and subject teaching,there is a "micro-breeze" in the filed of education.As a form of micro-learning,micro-lecture with its small and flexible characteristics meets the needs of learners' fragmented learning,autonomous learning and personalized learning.It has effectively supplemented classroom teaching and won the attention and love of educators and learners.Reading is an important language input way to obtain information and knowledge,which plays an irreplaceable role in listening,speaking,reading and writing.It's found that there are many questions in high school English reading teaching,such as the monotonous teaching method,the dull teaching atmosphere,the lack of situation creation and effective targeted learning aids in class,all these cause students' low learning interest and motivation in English through the investigation of the English reading learning situation in the experimental high school in Xinyang City.Facing this situation,the emergence of micro-lecture has injected new vitality into high school English reading teaching.It uses micro-video as the main carrier and can teach a single knowledge point.Micro-lecture is a learning resource integrating text,pictures,sound,video and animation,which can support the creation of contextualized learning environments.As a short and concise learning resource presented by visualization based on mobile intelligent devices,micro-lecture can meet the needs of English subject situation creation,not only can attract students' interest in learning,but also can improve the learning effect.This paper attempts to construct a micro-lecture teaching mode that suits the needs of students based on the actual teaching practice.Through micro-preview of language knowledge points before class,micro-introduction of reading background during class andmicro-consolidation of reading skills after class,a new micro-lecture teaching model is constructed.It is applied in English reading teaching and whether it can improve students' English learning interest and reading ability has become the focus of this study.In this paper,the related concepts and theoretical foundations are firstly expounded in detail.Secondly,by the survey of the students' pre-test questionnaire on the current situation of high school English reading teaching and students' needs for micro-lectures,the paper analyzes the feasibility of micro-lecture in high school English reading teaching and principles of designing micro-lecture.Then,according to the basic theories and current status of micro-lecture,this study ascertains principles of designing micro-lecture and constructs the micro-lecture teaching design mode,which is based on English subject characteristics and previous studies.And this study takes the standard course textbook of Beijing Normal University Unit4 "The Future of Cyberspace" as an example and applied the language reading micro-lecture mode to teaching practice.Finally,the paper verifies the application effect of the micro-lecture in the English reading teaching of high school which is based on the comparative analysis of reading scores of the experimental class and the control class,the analysis of students' questionnaire on the result of micro-lecture teaching as well as the teachers' interview on attitudes towards the micro-lecture teaching.
